Lynette Macnicol - Laboratory Manager

Lynette graduated from Otago University in New Zealand in 1994 with a B.Sc.(Hons) in Microbiology. After working in meat and dairy industry laboratories for a number of years in New Zealand she moved to the UK in 2007. For two years she worked as a Laboratory Manager for a major contract testing laboratory at several of their sites before joining the team at E&O Diagnostics in May 2009.




Clare Quinn - Assistant Laboratory Manager

Clare graduated from Strathclyde University, Glasgow in 2004 with a B.Sc. Joint Honours in Immunology and Microbiology. She started her career with E&O Diagnostics in January 2006 as a trainee microbiologist. She has now been with the company for over 5 years and was promoted to Assistant Laboratory Manager in June 2010.





Anna Polasik - Technician

Anna graduated from the University of Technology and Life Science in Bydgoszcz, Poland in 2007 with an M.Sc. in Chemical Technology. She moved to Scotland shortly afterwards and began her career with E&O Diagnostics in November 2008 performing chemical and physical analyses. In November 2009 she began her microbiology training and has now become fully trained in all areas of the laboratory.




Alison Smith - Technician

Alison graduated in June 2009 from Glasgow Caledonian University with B.Sc.(Hons) in Microbiology. In November 2009 she joined the team at E&O Diagnostics. Having studied the clinical aspects of microbiology, Alison is now gaining valuable experience in the field of industrial microbiology.





Gillian Murray
- Technician

Gillian graduated with a B.Sc.(Hons) in Forensic Biology in June 2010 from Edinburgh Napier University. She began working at E&O Diagnostics one month later and has been enjoying expanding on her previous knowledge of microbiology.



Douglas graduated from Strathclyde University in 1998 with a B.Sc. Joint Honours in Immunology and Microbiology. He stayed on to complete a postgraduate qualification in Applied Microbiology with the EPAST Group examining the Non-Thermal Pasteurisation of Liquid Foodstuffs. Douglas started his career with E&O Diagnostics in 2003 as a Microbiology Co-ordinator and having experienced several roles within the organization he was appointed Group Technical Manager in October 2009.

Eddie Scott - E&O Group Quality Director

Eddie graduated from the University of Abertay, Dundee in 1994 with a B.Sc. in Biotechnology and an HND in Biological Sciences. After managing Microbiology and Chemistry laboratories within the food industry for a number of years he moved into Quality Assurance. He has since worked in pharmaceutical and In-vitro Diagnostic Medical Device industries where he has managed the implementation of cGMP/cGLP, CE marking, and ISO9001 certification. Eddie joined the E&O group in 2005 as Compliance Manager and became Quality Director in 2009.

Joseph O'Donnell - Project Manager

Joe started his microbiology career as a junior MLSO at the Victoria Infirmary in Glasgow and progressed on to Stobhill Hospital where he concentrated on the projects relating to the Salmonella species before going self employed for several years. During this time Joe also attended Strathclyde University and achieved a B.Sc Biological Science, a B.Sc Hons. Biochemistry and Microbiology and also a Master of Science in Food Technology and Microbiology. In May 1999 Joe joined E&O Laboratories as a Quality Control Manager which also encompased some Product Development work. From April 2006 - May 2011 Joe worked as Senior Microbiologist for G&M Procter Ltd / Oxoid and then returned to the E&O Group as a Project Manager.

Attila Karsai B.Sc - Group Consultant

Attila Karsai joined the E&O Technical team as a consultant in 2010. With sixteen years experience in DCM formulation and a qualified Biochemical engineer he has assisted with several R&D projects and general enhancement of E&O's technical extertise.
