2012 SciTeq Scheme | 23 September, 2011
E&O Diagnostics are pleased to once again be signing up for the SciTeq scheme in 2012. This scheme is aimed at forming a link between schools and local industries in order to introduce young people to science as it is practiced in their communities. After a successful first year, we will be continuing to forge our relationship with Graeme High School in Falkirk by delivering workshops to the S1 students where they will be able to learn about "good” and "bad” bacteria and carry out hands-on microbiological experiments.
September UKAS visit | 23 September, 2011
We have just concluded our annual UKAS visit, which was a very interesting and constructive experience as usual. These visits are always very wide-ranging as we are in the unique position of having accreditation for both Media Quality Control and Food, Water and Environmental test methods. This year we applied for an extension to the scope to include E. coli and Yeast and Mould methods on swab samples. These methods were witnessed during the visit and as no findings were raised they will appear on the next version of our schedule as accredited test methods. We expect the updated schedule to be published around the end of October.
