E&O Diagnostics Ltd was formed in 2000 after the acquisition and relocation of a local food testing business in Bellshill to the Group's manufacturing site at Burnhouse. The laboratory was launched with a plan to incorporate analytical testing for food, water and environmental (FWE) samples with its existing remit for quality control testing of ready to use culture media manufactured by E&O Laboratories Ltd.
In the spring of 2008 the laboratory extended the scope of their existing UKAS ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation for FWE analysis to incorporate physical and microbiological test methods for the analysis of ready to use culture media. E&O Diagnostics is currently the only UK laboratory to have achieved accredited status for both FWE and culture media analysis.
